ACT State Kinder Funding Improvements

As part of our ongoing improvements to the State Kinder Funding tool, we’ve completed key updates to support automatic fee relief calculations for ACT Three-Year-Old Preschool programs. 

We have been working closely with the ACT Government to ensure these changes make fee relief easier to manage, improve transparency and visibility for families and reduce administrative effort for services.

ACT State Kinder Funding Improvements

Automatic Application of Fee Relief 
There is no longer a manual allocation model for ACT preschool programs from 2026. Funding is automatically distributed based on each program’s selected delivery model (40-week or 50-week model). Once a program commences, allocations are backdated to the program start date. As this fee relief process is now fully automated, the Gap Fee Adjustments tool is no longer available for ACT preschool programs.

Ability to Pause and Resume Programs
Programs can now be paused at any time if required. When a program is resumed, automatic funding allocation will restart. Payments will be backdated unless operating days or weeks are adjusted in the Program tab.

Funding Tab Summary View
The Funding tab now displays a clear summary for each child, including a breakdown of hours and total funding received. Manual entry has been removed, so this page will now serve as a quick overview of the progress of each child’s fee relief entitlements.

New Enrolment Report
A new ACT Preschool Enrolment Report is now available. This report allows services to download a summary of enrolment information for each eligible child enrolled in an active program, over a selected time period, supporting ACT reporting requirements. 

This report can be found under Reports > Attendance Reports > National State Kinder ACT Report.

Additional enhancements and reporting will be released in the coming weeks to complete the enhancements for the ACT State Kinder Funding tool.

System Enhancements
The following improvements will be live from 29 January.

  • We have made a change to ensure parent statements are emailed to the desired email address of the selected parent/guardian. Previously, when a statement was emailed, the email address used was the one that was originally set up for the parent/guardian’s Home account. This caused disruptions in sending statements when the parent/guardian’s contact email address was updated in their profile in Office. To make it easier, all emails to families sent from Office, whether via Comms Centre or Statements, will be delivered to the email address under the parent/guardian Profile.
  • Administrators may notice some slight changes to the look of Office. These are simply cosmetic changes to ensure we're investing in a clean and simple interface for our customers to navigate. This week, you will notice changes to the Add Payments and Attendance Summary report builder screens.
