Logging into Office

We're making some improvements to how you log in to keep your Office account more secure and your data better protected.

A safer way to log into Office

We're making some improvements to how you log in to keep your Office account more secure and your data better protected.

What's changing

Starting from 12 August, you'll log into Office using your email address instead of your username.

What this means for you

For most customers, this will be a quick and seamless update. The first time you log in after the change, you may be guided through a short setup, this could include:

  • Confirming access to your email address
  • Linking Office accounts
  • Creating a stronger password if needed

This will only take a few minutes.

If you use multiple accounts with the same email address, you’ll be able to link these together, so you no longer need to remember multiple sets of credentials.

What you need to do now

If you have multiple Office profiles, please ensure they're all linked to a single email address — including any alias addresses. This must be done before August 12.

For example, if you have two Office profiles using jess.smith@xplor and jess.smith+1@xplor, you'll need to update both so they use jess.smith@xplor.

We recommend sharing this update with anyone on your team who uses the platform. For a full step-by-step guide, see our learning resources below.

If your service uses Single Sign-On (SSO), your login experience will remain exactly the same and no action is required on your part. SSO configurations will continue to work as normal. If you have questions about SSO setup or want to learn more click here.
