QikKids Release Notes: May 2026

We know keeping your service secure is critical, so we’ve made an update to better protect you.

Stronger password security
To improve account security, we’ve introduced a minimum 12-character password requirement (including uppercase, lowercase, numbers and special characters).

This ensures safer access as we roll out new web-based functionality, where your existing login details will also be used to sign in.

This change will only apply if Password Management is enabled (Options > QK Next). If it’s currently turned off, there’s no change for your team right now.

NSW Digital Hub Web Interface
We've added a QikKids web interface for the NSW Digital Hub.
  • There is a new Digital Hub Web Interface option under State Kindy Funding > NSW.
  • It launches in your browser with automatic sign-in, no additional passwords required.
  • Added a Place of Birth field to the Digital Hub child details screen.
If your service is not currently using the NSW Digital Hub in QikKids, this menu option can be safely ignored.

Helping keep your Kindy reporting accurate
Missing key details—like your NQA ITS Service ID—can impact reporting accuracy. To help avoid this, admins will now be prompted to enter it when required (for NSW and VIC State Kinder services).

Kind regards,
The QikKids Team
