QikKids Release Notes: 4.19.44

Here’s a short summary of what’s new in this release and what it means for you.

Victorian Kinder absence reasons
If your service runs VIC Kinder, marking a child with a Standard Absence will now show the Victorian reason names you’re familiar with (Sick, Medical Appointment, Holiday, Cultural, Compassionate, Emergency, Unforeseen Event and Unavoidable Cause) instead of the federal labels. Additional Absences and Pupil-Free Add Absences are unchanged, and your existing absence reports will look and behave exactly as they do today. There’s nothing you need to do.

Family Statements
Two improvements to make statements clearer for you and your families:
  • Statements that include prescribed discounts now display a clear Other Discounts and Payments heading above that section, so the amounts are easier to find and explain.
  • We’ve fixed a display issue where the CCS % shown on a statement could remain at the old percentage after a family’s CCS entitlement changed mid-period. The dollar amounts were already correct, only the displayed percentage was out of date, and it now updates correctly.

NSW Digital Hub
NDIS and HLSN identifiers entered on the Digital Hub child details screen are now stored exactly as you enter them, including any leading zeros or letters. If your service runs a preschool program, you can now set the program’s operating hours under Service Details > Operating Hours, so the Digital Hub receives your actual program schedule rather than the centre’s general hours.

Behind the scenes: QLD Kindy Funding Agreement
For services using the QLD KFA integration, QikKids now connects to the Queensland Department of Education’s new EdGrants system for forecasts, acquittals, agreement lookups and token requests. This update happens entirely behind the scenes, you’ll keep working in QikKids exactly as you do now.

For Enterprise (on-premises) customers - Microsoft Access
If you run QikKids on your own servers and your organisation uses a newer or 64-bit version of Microsoft Access, QikKids can now work with it for reports and statements. Your IT team can switch this on under Options > Advanced. If you use QikKids Web, this does not affect you.

Warm regards,

The QikKids Team
