State Kinder Improvements

The following improvements are live now!

Fixed Weekly Allocations

Set a steady weekly funding amount, so government funding lands the same on every parent statement — week in, week out, with Fixed Weekly Allocation.

Until now, State Kinder funding was split across the sessions a child attended each week. So when attendance changed — three sessions one week, four the next — the funding on a parent's statement moved with it, and families saw amounts that shifted from week to week.

Now you choose how funding is shared out:

  • Spread it evenly with the new Fixed weekly amount mode — government funding is divided across your operating weeks, so every statement shows the same figure
  • Save time with an amount that's ready to go — Office works it out from the Allocated Government Funding Amount and your operating weeks, and fills it in for you
  • Adjust whenever you need — the prepopulated amount can be overwritten to match how your service runs
  • Keep your options open — prefer the original approach? Sessional is still there to select whenever it suits a program
  • Start the new way without lifting a finger — from 1 July, programs default to Fixed weekly amount, with nothing extra to set up

It's about steadier statements, less to explain to families, and funding you can set once and trust.

System Enhancements

Kinder funding hours are now mandatory when setting up a program. This ensures we know when booking hours overlap with Kinder hours, so we calculate funding correctly.
